TRAVERTINE SEALING

Pool decks, patios, walkways.
Sealed for the long haul.

Premium travertine sealing across the Phoenix Valley. Color enrichment, stain protection, and a finish built to handle pool chemicals, sunscreen, and AZ heat.

WHY IT MATTERS

Travertine is porous. That's the problem.

Travertine is naturally porous — it absorbs everything it touches. Pool chemicals, sunscreen, mineral deposits, monsoon water, even spilled wine. Combined with Arizona sun fading lighter-colored stone, your travertine ages faster than most homeowners expect.

Sealing locks the surface against stains, slows UV color loss, and creates a protective layer that actually rinses clean instead of soaking everything in. It's the difference between a pool deck that looks brand new in year five and one that looks tired by year two.

OUR PROCESS

Three steps. One standard.

Every travertine project follows the same proven process — whether it's a 200 sq ft pool deck or a 3,000 sq ft full backyard.

  1. 1

    Deep clean

Specialized cleaning to lift mineral deposits, biofilm, and embedded stains without etching the natural stone.

  2. 2

    Repair & fill

Fill natural pitting, repair grout lines, and address any surface issues so the sealer adheres evenly.

  3. 3

    Apply sealant

Premium penetrating or topical sealer based on your finish choice. Cures fast and pool-safe once cured.

FINISH OPTIONS

Three finishes. Your call.

Travertine takes sealant differently than pavers — you can preserve the natural matte look or push it toward a wet, polished glow.

Natural

Invisible matte.

Penetrating sealer that protects against stains and absorption while keeping the natural look exactly as it is. No shine, no shift in color.

Wet Look

High gloss.

Maximum shine, dramatic wet appearance. Premium look for entries and high-design patios that want a head-turning finish.

WHAT IT COSTS

Honest pricing starts at your patio.

TRAVERTINE SEALING FAQ

Common questions about travertine sealing.

How often does travertine need to be sealed?
In Arizona, most travertine needs re-sealing every 2–4 years depending on traffic, sun exposure, and pool proximity. Pool decks and high-use patios are on the shorter end.
Will sealing change the look of my travertine?
It depends on the finish you choose. A natural penetrating sealer keeps the look exactly the same. An enhance finish deepens the color variation. Wet look gives a glossy, polished appearance. We'll show you finished examples during your estimate.
Is sealing safe near pools?
Yes — we use sealants formulated for pool deck use. Once fully cured (typically 24 hours), they're chlorine-safe, salt-safe, and won't impact pool water. We schedule applications around your pool use.
Do you fill holes or etching in the travertine?
Yes. We fill natural pitting, address etching from acidic spills (like wine or citrus), and repair grout lines as part of the prep work before sealing.
Can you seal travertine in the summer?
Yes. We schedule applications around temperature and humidity to ensure proper cure. Summer mornings and evenings are actually our most common application windows.
Is travertine maintenance different from paver maintenance?
Yes — travertine is more porous and more sensitive to acidic chemicals. Don't use vinegar-based cleaners, citrus cleaners, or anything acidic. A pH-neutral stone soap and our sealing schedule keeps it looking new.
